ASIC ALLIANCE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENTS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Woburn, Mass., - August 2, 1999 - ASIC Alliance Corporation, a leading independent supplier of ASIC, SOC and FPGA design and verification consulting services, today announced the appointments of Angelo Guadagno and Patrick Sweeney to its Board of Directors. Signaling the rapid growth currently underway at ASIC Alliance, the announcement comes on the heels of the Company's promotion of Rich McAndrew from president to chairman of the board and Ray Carlin's appointment to president and chief executive.

Angelo Guadagno, a resident of Boston, Mass., joins ASIC Alliance's Board of Directors with comprehensive high technology and sales management experience. He is currently a principal at Skycady, a Boston consulting firm that helps small- and medium-sized companies set executable sales, marketing, product and funding objectives. Mr. Guadagno is also an instructor in the Computer Science Department at Boston University. In addition to ASIC Alliance, Mr. Guadagno is a member of the Board of Directors at Savior Technology Group, Inc. and Finale, Inc. Mr. Guadagno previously served in a variety of senior management positions at Data General Corporation, Apollo Computer Corporation and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Patrick Sweeney, of Acton, Mass., joins the Board with extensive international business operations experience. Currently a private investor and consultant, Mr. Sweeney is the founder and a member of the Board of Directors at Photo Machining, Inc. He is also a Board member at seven additional companies, including, Aimware, Inc. and Pentus Technologies. For nine years, Mr. Sweeney served in several senior management positions, and ultimately as president and CEO at Hadco Corporation in Salem, N.H., the largest manufacturer of advanced electronic interconnect products in North America. Before joining Hadco, Mr. Sweeney worked for Wang Laboratories, Inc. in Ireland, where he was vice president, international operations, until 1986.
