ASIC ALLIANCE LAUNCHES MARLBORO, MASS., DESIGN AND VERIFICATION CENTER

-- Second Remote Center Opening Extends Company's Strategy to Accommodate Customers and Employees --

Woburn, Mass., - September 27, 1999 - ASIC Alliance Corporation, a leading supplier of ASIC, SoC and FPGA design and verification consulting services, today announced the opening of its second remote Design and Verification Center (DVC), located in Marlboro, Mass. In line with its rapid expansion and growth, the Company has outlined an extensive satellite office strategy that benefits customers by providing them with easy access and proximity to ASIC Alliance's specialized engineering talent. The Company announced the opening of its first remote DVC in Portsmouth, N.H., in June 1999.

Chosen for its proximity to several of ASIC Alliance's key customers and major EDA facilities, the Marlboro office is also centrally located for the Company's staff living in the western suburbs of Metro Boston. The Marlboro Design and Verification Center is located at Two Mount Royal Avenue and has the capacity to support 25 engineers and direct sales staff.

"The new Marlboro office is strategically located near some of our largest customers," said Ray Carlin, ASIC Alliance president and chief executive. "Our goal is to continue expanding our market presence where we can best serve our customers, attract superior talent and offer our employees the most convenient place to work. We plan to have additional remote DVCs in Nashua, N.H., the Hudson Valley area in New York, Central New Jersey, the Research Triangle Park area in North Carolina, and Ottawa, Canada."

The planned DVC sites have been strategically placed throughout the US to keep offices close to employees' homes. "This is a quality-of-life issue; shorter commutes allow our employees to spend more time with their families," commented Steve Hobbs, vice president of strategic staffing at ASIC Alliance.

The Company's new Marlboro office is managed by KC Buckenmaier, ASIC Alliance engineering director. ASIC Alliance engineering teams can be contracted to work at customer sites or to outsource all or part of a project at the Company's Woburn, Mass., facility or at any of the Company's Design and Verification Centers.
