ASIC ALLIANCE CORPORATION ACQUIRES SILICON VALLEY-BASED CADWORX CONSULTING

Woburn, Mass., - January 17, 2000 - ASIC Alliance Corporation, a full-service provider of ASIC and FPGA design and verification services, today announced its acquisition of CADWorx Consulting, Inc., of Milpitas, Calif. Founded by EDA veteran Jayant Nagda, CADWorx provides consulting services to design groups developing ASICs and FPGAs. The acquisition firmly establishes ASIC Alliance's presence into Silicon Valley. The acquisition terms were not disclosed.
CADWorx founder Jayant Nagda will become a Regional Vice President of ASIC Alliance and will be chartered with significantly building ASIC Alliance's presence in the Silicon Valley, as well as to establish ASIC Alliance's EDA design tool practice and advance its strategic C/C++ based design and verification methodologies.
The move is welcomed at companies such as MMC Networks, a supplier of network processors, that partnered with ASIC Alliance to provide design and verification services for network equipment vendors. According to Fred Berkowitz, Vice President, Engineering at MMC Networks, "We have had great success working with ASIC Alliance in the past. ASIC Alliance was crucial in helping mutual customers meet their most critical time to market needs. The acquisition of CADWorx will now provide us with access to additional top notch consultants and support based right here in the Silicon Valley."

In this role, Mr. Nagda developed and managed Verilog and VHDL based development efforts in India.
