ASIC ALLIANCE CORPORATION ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF PRECONFIGURED REUSABLE ENVIRONMENT AND PLATFORM SERVICE

Woburn, Mass., - June 12, 2000 - ASIC Alliance Corporation today announced the launch of PREP, a Preconfigured Reusable Environment and Platform that codifies verification best practices and enables them to be deployed across multiple projects. Using PREP, ASIC Alliance will provide its customers with significantly reduced deployment time, enabling them to experience faster ramp-up of their complex verification projects. The development and implementation of the PREP environment reflects ASIC Alliances' active commitment to providing solutions that enable design reuse.
The PREP implementation service provides project specific configuration and customization that enables efficient reuse of technology and methodology from one verification project to the next. Included in PREP are standardized structures and methods for a variety of verification tasks, including: statistic gathering and monitoring; directory structures; library additions; test invocation; and revision control. In addition, PREP is designed to seamlessly incorporate transactors that will support leading industry standard protocols.
Using PREP, ASIC Alliance can dramatically reduce the time it takes to create the verification environment. Prior to PREP, it would typically take two engineers working six to eight weeks to deploy the verification environment; but, using PREP, this process takes only two weeks. In addition, because the methodology is scalable and predictable, it is not necessary for engineers to learn about the verification environment and the project; they only need to focus on the project. This "project only" focus enables engineers to move from one project to the next more quickly, reducing start-up times and increasing productivity.
